Sacred Oath

Oathkeeper

Oathkeeper Tenants

Innocence Proves Nothing. An oath broken by accident is still broken.

We watch the watchers. The transgressions of the common folk are secondary to those who keep them in line.

Sworn not bound. An Oathkeeper is not beholden to other paladins, they are beholden to you and your judgement.

Oath Spell

At 3rd level, and when you reach certain levels in this class, you gain access to the spells listed for that level in the Oathkeeper Spells table.

Oathkeeper Spells
Paladin Level Spells
3rd comprehend languages, silvery barb
5th detect thoughts, mind spike
9th counterspell, tiny servant
13th compulsion, resilient sphere
17th dominate person, geas

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Compel Compliance. As a bonus action you present your holy symbol in an effort to compel a creature willingly or no that can hear you within 30ft. You issue a one word order to that creature and that creature then makes a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature must comply with the order to the best of their ability and on a successful save the creature takes xd4 psychic damage (x being half your paladin level rounded down) instead. The order given cannot bring immediate harm to the creature.

Discipline the Violators. Those who dare fall out of line lose their right to an unbonked head. When you hit a creature with a melee attack you can channel your divinity as a bonus action and force them to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is stunned until the start of your next turn.

Aura of Alignment Checking

At 7th level, you exude an aura that reveals ones true nature. The aura extends 15 feet from you in every direction, but not through total cover. When a creature enters your aura you learn their alignment and if they are under any effect or spell that causes illusions or changes their true form it is dispelled while they remain within the aura.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Keeper'a Decree

at 15th level, within your aura your word is law. At the end of each long rest you can choose a one word command and when a hostile creature starts their turn within your aura they have the command spell cast on them with the chosen word as the command.

Divine Trial

At 20th level, those who have broken their oaths need to be brought to true divine justice. As an action you can choose a creature within 60ft of you. and drag that creature and all creatures within 300ft. into a demiplane. This demiplane resembles a courtroom the target creature is the defendant and you are the prosecutor, with the rest of the creatures being the jury. A judge presides over this court and begins with a neutral disposition. No creature is capable of deal damage, casting spells, or using any effect that would cause damage or a condition while in the court and this all creatures within this demiplane are under the effects of the zone of truth spell.

As the Prosecutor you must accuse the Defendant of a crime and then you have 10 minutes to prove the guilt of the defendant after which the judge will hand down a guilty or innocent verdict.

Guilty. The defendant is declared guilty, all creatures are forced out of the demiplane and the judge joins you in pursuit of justice against the defendant. The judge (using the marut statblock) is friendly to you and your companions and will use their turn to mercilessly hunt down the defendant for 1d4 rounds.

Innocent. The defendant is declared innocent, court is adjourned and all creatures are forced out of the demiplane and you take 100 necrotic damage that cannot be reduced by any means and the defendant may immediately move up to twice their movement speed and make 1 action.

Once you use this bonus action, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a 5th-level spell slot to use it again.
