## Druid The druids of the Circle of Corruption have tapped into the dark powers that lurk beyond the boundaries of the natural world. They draw their strength from the twisted landscapes of the Shadowfell, the eldritch horrors of the Far Realm, the infernal fires of the Lower Planes, and the poisonous miasmas of Venomvale. These druids see beauty in the corruption that surrounds them and seek to spread their influence, transforming the world into a reflection of their dark desires. With the power to shape-shift into creatures that embody their chosen land's essence, and the ability to corrupt and transform the very terrain itself, these druids are a force to be reckoned with. Some may see them as villains or madmen, but to the Circle of Corruption, their power is simply a means to an end - to preserve their chosen form of the natural world. ### Circle of the Corruption Those who channel the magic of life and nature often find themselves drawn to a particular shrine or natural site, binding their body and spirit to these places of power. Such druids draw vitality from their chosen location, protecting it with their lives—but not all succeed in defending these sacred realms. Whether through the subtle corruption of vile magics, the tainted presence of an ancient terror, or a terrible mistake unleashed by druids themselves, a land can become cursed. ### Features \columnbreak
#### Circle Spells At 2nd Level, you choose a land that your druid is connected to and gain a corruption damage type based on that land. Your mystical connection to the land infuses you with the ability to cast certain spells. At 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to circle spells connected to the land where you became a druid. Choose that land – The Far Realm, The Lower Planes , Venomvale, or Shadowfell – and consult the associated list of spells. Once you gain access to a circle spell, you always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn't appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you. ##### The Far Realm If you choose this land, you are a guardian of the lands most would call abominable. Your corruption damage type is Psychic. | Druid Level | Circle Spells | |:---:|:-----------:| | 5 | Hunger of Hadar | | 7 | Summon Abberation | | 9 | Contact other Plane | ##### The Lower Planes If you choose this land, you are tied to one of more of the demonic planes such as the Nine Hells or the Abyss. Your corruption die type is Poison. | Druid Level | Circle Spells | |:---:|:-----------:| | 5 | Stinking Cloud | | 7 | Sickening Radiance | | 9 | Cloudkill | ##### Shadowfell If you choose this land, you are a druid of undeath. Druids who choose this path once decided to protect their nature, even if it meant turning all of it undead. Your corruption die type is Necrotic. | Druid Level | Circle Spells | |:---:|:-----------:| | 5 | Animate Dead | | 7 | Shadow of Moil | | 9 | Danse Macabre | #### Defile Ground Starting at 2nd level when you choose this circle, you can use a bonus action to corrupt a patch of land or an area of water in a 10-foot radius centered on a point within 60 feet of you. This corruption lasts for 1 minute. The corrupted area is difficult terrain for all creatures except you and any creatures summoned or conjured by you. Additionally, when a creature ends its turn in the area, it takes damage equal to your corruption die, which starts at a d4. You can move this patch of corruption up to 30 feet as a bonus action. Flying creatures are unaffected by the corruption unless they are within 5 feet of the ground. Starting at 10th level, the area of your defiled ground increases to a 20-foot radius. Additionally, your corruption die increases to 1d6 when you reach 10th level in this class, and 1d8 at 14th level. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest. The damage type for your corruption die is determined by the land you chose. #### Blighted Shape Also at 2nd level, your physical form begins to show effects of the corruption you wield, tracing blackened veins across your skin, producing gnarled, bony protrusions, eyes or mouths covering your body, or other eerie phenomena. You gain proficiency in the Charisma (Intimidation) skill. Your creature type when wild shaped changes to one determined by the land you chose: Undead for Shadowfell, Monstrosities for Venomvale, Abberations for the Far Realm, and Fiends for the Lower Planes. Additionally, any creatures summoned by you become this type. #### Monstrous Shape At 6th level, you learn to further tap into the strange powers of the plane from which you draw your blight. When you use wild shape, in addition to beasts, you may choose another type of creature to transform into. For these creatures, you may wild shape into them as long as their CR is 1/3 of your druid level (rounded down or rounded up if you are level 20) or less. The following creatures are excluded and unavailable: Intellect Devourer, and Basilisk. If you chose the Far Realm as your land, the Intellect Devourer becomes available at level 18 and the Mind Flayer at level 20. #### Toxic Demise Starting at 10th level, When a creature you summoned or conjured is reduced to 0 hit points, it explodes in a burst of toxic mulch or fetid viscera. Each creature within 5 feet of the exploding creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or take 2 corruption die of damage type based. As an action, you can also cause a summoned creature to explode, immediately killing it. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you have taken a long rest. #### Incarnation of Corruption At 14th level, your physical form continues to take on the tainted traits of the land you are bonded to. Your skin grows ashen, and your eyes darken or turn completely white, granting your resistance to your corruption damage type. Additionally, whenever you start your turn within the radius of the corruption created by your Defile Ground feature, you can use a bonus action to expend one spell slot and gain temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus.
