Blood Rose
There's beauty in the Blood Rose, and let that beauty be protected. The Blood Roses are an elite group of hunters who take down those who seek to disrupt the natural order. The group is named after the blood rose, a rose that blooms near their fallen foes. Although the groups origins are shrouded in mystery, with some referring to them as assassins and only the most trusted among them knowing the true story, a ranger who is part of the Blood Rose will be gifted its power in order to preserve life and protect the innocent.
As your ranger grows in power they may be noticed by the most trusted and eventually learn the origins of the Blood Rose. You can work with your DM to determine how your ranger may be noticed or even what is the origin of the Blood Rose.
Blood Rose Features
| Ranger Level | Feature |
|---|---|
| 3rd | Gift of the Blood Rose, Hunter's Rosarium |
| 7th | Rose's Kiss |
| 11th | Bounty of Sacrifice |
| 15th | Beauty Protected |
Gift of the Blood Rose
Starting at 3rd level when you choose this archetype, you are gifted with knowledge of the blood rose. Using a breed of rose known as the blood rose you can create one of the following items as part of a long rest:
- Potion: You create a Potion of Healing that lasts for 8 hours.
- Poison: You create a Drow Poison that lasts for 8 hours. The DC for this Poison is instead your spell save DC.
Additionally, you learn the druidcraft cantrip, which is a ranger spell for you. With this cantrip you can create a blood rose which lasts for 24 hours.
Hunter's Rosarium
At 3rd level you have learnt to summon a Hunter's Rosarium that resembles a rose field. As an action, you can magically summon your Rosarium on a point you can see within 30ft of you. When summoned your Rosarium has a 15ft radius.
As a bonus action on subsequent turns, you can move your Rosarium a number of feet equal to your movement speed.
If a creature is reduced to 0 hit points while in your Rosarium or if you score a critical hit you create a Rosarium Bloom. While in your Rosarium, you gain the benefits from the number of Rosarium Blooms you currently have. Your ranger level determines the number of Rosarium Blooms you can gain in this way as shown on the table below.
| Rosarium Blooms | Ranger Level | Benefit while in your Rosarium | Rosarium Radius |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | - | You gain the benefits of half cover. | 15ft. |
| 1 | - | As a bonus action, you can reduce the number of Rosarium Blooms you currently have by 1 to heal a creature within your rosarium for 1d6 + your wisdom modifier. At 11th level the 1d6 becomes 2d6. | 20ft. |
| 2 | 3rd | Creatures in your Rosarium you hit with a weapon attack take additional piercing damage equal to your proficiency bonus. | 25ft. |
| 3 | 5th | Your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 against creatures in your Rosarium. | 30ft. |
| 4 | 9th | You heal for the additional necrotic damage dealt with your Rose's Kiss feature. | 35ft. |
| 5 | 13th | You gain a blindsight of 30ft. Additionally, you know the exact location of every creature in your Rosarium. | 40ft. |
| 6 | 17th | Whenever you make an attack against a creature in your Rosarium you can immediately teleport to anywhere in your Rosarium (no action required). | 45ft. |
Your rosarium can be dismissed as an action. When dismissed in this way, your rosarium can be summoned again without expending a use of this feature. While summoned, if you are reduced to 0 hit points, or you move 300ft away from your rosarium before it is dismissed, your rosarium will wither and loose its benefits.
If your rosarium withers, you can't summon it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to summon it.
Rose's Kiss
At 7th level, on each of your turns the first creature you hit in your rosarium with a weapon attack takes an additional 1d6 necrotic damage.
Additionally, you gain resistance to poison damage and advantage on saving throws against being poisoned.
Bounty of Sacrifice
Starting at 11th level, as part of the action used to summon your Hunter's Rosarium you can choose to spend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to create a number of Rosarium Blooms equal to the level of the spell slot spent. The level of the spell slot spent cannot exceed half your proficiency bonus (rounded up).
Beauty Protected
At 15th level, whenever you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, each creature of your choice that is in your Hunter's Rosarium before it wilts must make a Constitution saving equal to your spell save DC. A creature that fails takes 6d8 necrotic damage, or half as much on a success. You heal for half the damage dealt to each creature and gain resistance to all damage. The resistance lasts until the start of your next turn.
Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.

Change Log
Ver. 1.0:
- Initial Release.
Ver. 1.1:
Hunter's Rosarium:
- A Rosarium Bloom is created whenever a creature is reduced to 0 hit points while in your Hunter's Rosarium instead of only when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points.
This is to both increase the frequency of Blooms created and to avoid selfish play.
Blood Rose
Embrace the beauty of the blood rose, and master its secrets with this new ranger archetype for the world's greatest roleplaying game.
