Sorcerous Origin: Mistborn
The Dark Lords of Ravenloft, or similar dark forces, have left their mark upon you, granting you innate magical capabilities and means to protect yourself even when magic is rare. The power of the Mists, and fragments of those trapped within, power you and your weapon. Will you use your new powers to combat the many threats of the world and inspire hope? Or will you become a source of terror to those who face your spells and weapon? Will you revel in, or fear, the powers that suffuse your being?
As a Mistborn Sorcerer, you decide how you acquired your powers. Were you born with them? Or did some event in your life leave you forever changed by the Mists? You can pick from or roll on the Mistborn Origins table for a possible origin of your power. Alternatively, speak with your DM to discuss an origin for your Mistborn Sorcerer.

Mistborn Spells
Starting at 1st level, you learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Mistborn Spells table. Each of these spells count as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.
Mistborn Spells
| Sorcerer Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 1st | Fog Cloud, Wrathful Smite |
| 3rd | Misty Step, Spiritual Weapon |
| 5th | Gaseous Form, Spirit Shroud |
| 7th | Shadow of Moil, Banishment |
| 9th | Far Step, Steel Wind Strike |
Mistbound Weapon
Starting at 1st level, you gain the ability to bind a weapon to your soul by performing a magical ritual. You perform the ritual over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a short or long rest. The weapon must be within your reach throughout the ritual, at the conclusion of which you must touch the weapon and forge the bond.
You are proficient with your Mistbound Weapon while you wield it. As an action, you can dismiss your weapon, shunting it into an extradimensional space. Your Mistbound Weapon can be recalled into your hand from extradimensional space with a subsequent action.
The weapon ceases being your Mistbound Weapon if you die, if you perform the 1-hour ritual on another weapon, or if you use a 1-hour ritual to break your bond to it. The weapon appears at your feet if it is in the extradimensional space when the bond breaks.
You can use your Misbound Weapon as a spellcasting focus for your Sorcerer Spells.
Shrouded Form
Wisps of mist and fog partly obscure your form, making you harder to hit. Starting at 1st level, while you are wearing no armour and not wielding a shield, your AC equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier.
Mistbound Arcanum
You have learned to better weave your spells around your Mistbound Weapon. Beginning at 6th level, when you use your action to cast a cantrip, you can make one weapon attack with your Mistbound Weapon as a bonus action.
Torments of the Darklords
The bond between you and your Mistbound Weapon grows, allowing you to channel slivers of the Torments ordinarily held for the Darklords through your Mistbound Weapon
Beginning at 6th level, you can alter one attack made with your Mistbound Weapon with a Torment. You may only use one Torment on a Mistbound Weapon attack unless otherwise noted. Once you have used a Torment, you may not do so again until the start of your next turn.
Torment of the Coward When you roll to attack with your Mistbound Weapon, you can spend 2 sorcery points and channel the Torment of the Coward into your attack. You ignore half, three-quarters and total cover when making the attack with your Mistbound Weapon.
Torment of the Socialite You can spend 2 sorcery points to roll to attack with your Mistbound Weapon, so long as you have it on your person or it is contained within your extradimensional space. When you make an attack in this fashion, you do so without moving or visually using your Mistbound Weapon as the Torment of the Socialite is inflicted upon your target.
Torment of the Pursued When you make an attack with your Mistbound Weapon, you can spend 1 sorcery point to double the range of the attack. If your Mistbound Weapon is melee, the range of your attack is increased to 30ft.
Torment of the Immaculate When you roll damage for your Mistbound Weapon, you can force the Torment of the Immaculate upon your target by spending 1 sorcery point. When you do so, the target's hit point maximum decreases by an amount equal to the damage dealt by your Mistbound Weapon.
Torment of the Evasive If you make an attack roll for your Mistbound Weapon and miss, you can spend 2 sorcery points to reroll the d20, and you must use the new roll.
You can use Torment of the Evasive even if you have already used a different Metamagic option upon attacking with your Mistbound Weapon.
Torment of the Stalwart When you hit a target with your Mistbound Weapon, you can spend 2 sorcery point and attempt to channel the Torment of the Stalwart into your target.
The target of your Mistbound Weapon attack must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be moved 5 feet in a direction of your choice. The target can not be moved into or through a solid object. A creature can willingly fail this save.
Vengeful Escape
Starting at 14th Level, when you take damage from a weapon attack or spell targeting you, you can use a reaction and spend 3 sorcery points to disperse into a cloud of mist. When you do, the damage you take is halved, you teleport up to 20 feet and you make one attack with your Mistbound Weapon.
Form of the Mistwraith
Beginning at 18th level, you can spend 6 sorcery points and channel fragments of the Mists through yourself, temporarily transforming yourself for 1 minute, until you loose concentration (as if you were casting a concentration spell). or until you use a subsequent bonus action. While transformed into a sliver of the Dark Powers, the following occurs:
- Your physical form becomes like the Mists permeating Barovia. While in the Form of the Mistwraith, you can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. You take 5 force damage if you end your turn inside an object.
- Once per turn, you may add your Charisma modifier (minimum of +1) to the damage of your Mistbound Weapon attacks.
- Once per turn when you damage a creature with your Mistbound Weapon, you can attempt to force unnatural fear into the target. The creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened until the Form of the Darklords ends. A frightened enemy can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. A creature that succeeds on this saving throw is immune to the frightening effect of the Form of the Mistwraith until the feature is used again.
- You can teleport up to 10 feet at the beginning of each of your turns.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
