## Monk: Way of the Four Elements You follow a monastic tradition that teaches you to harness the elements. When you focus your ki, you can align yourself with the forces of creation and bend the four elements to your will, using them as an extension of your body. Some members of this tradition dedicate themselves to a single element, but others weave the elements together. Many monks of this tradition tattoo their bodies with representations of their ki powers, commonly imagined as coiling dragons, but also as phoenixes, fish, plants, mountains, and cresting waves. ### Disciple of the Elements **Spellcasting** When you reach 3rd level, you augment your martial prowess with the ability to cast spells. See Spells Rules for the general rules of spellcasting. <enter> **Cantrips** You learn two cantrips of your choice from the monk elemental spell options below. You learn an additional cantrip from the elemental spell options below at 11th level. <enter> **Spell Slots** The Four Elements Monk Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your monk spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest. <enter> **Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher** You learn one 1st-level spells of your choice from the monk elemental spell options when you gain this spellcasting feature. The Spells Known column of the Way of the Four Elements Spellcasting table shows when you learn more monk spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be an option from the Monk Elemental Spell Options table and must be of a level for which you have spell slots Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the monk spells you know with another spell of your choice from the monk elemental spell options. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots. <enter> **Spellcasting Ability** Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your monk spells, since your magic draws on your mental discipline and your attunement with the elements. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a monk spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one. **Spell Save DC** = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier \columnbreak **Spell Attack Modifier** = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier <enter> ### Elemental Body At 3rd level, your body becomes a natural instrument for channeling the weave of elemental magic. When you cast your monk spells, you use its casting time and other rules but you don't need to provide material components as your body counts as a spell casting focus for your monk spells. Further, casting a leveled spell as your action counts for the purposes of activating your Ki-Fueled attack feature. ### One with the Elements Beginning at 6th level, your mastery of elemental magic allows you to channel Ki into your spell casting. As a bonus action you may spend Ki equal to 1 + the spells level to recover a spell slot. The number of times you can use this feature is based on the level you’ve reached in this class. You may use this feature twice at 6th level, three times at 11th level and 4 times at 17th. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. ### Elemental Flurry By 11th level, you more easily combine your elemental spells with your martial fury. When you use your action to cast a leveled spell, you may use Flurry of Blows for free with your bonus action. Alternatively, when you take the Attack action, you may use your bonus action to cast a cantrip. ### Wrath of the Elements At 17th level, you are a living conduit for elemental wrath. You may cast one of the following spells for free, once per day: Cone of Cold, Control Winds, Immolation, Maelstrom, Wall of Stone. You may also spend 6 Ki to cast one of these spells, once per day.
