## Pact Boon Options

When you gain the Pact Boon feature at 3rd level, you can choose the following additional option.

#### Pact of the Mail

Over the course of a 10 minute ritual which you can complete during a short or long rest, you can create and equip a suit of eldritch mail granted to you by your patron. You can't equip it if you're already wearing armour. You decide the appearance of this mail when you equip it, which attaches to you and can't be removed against your will. It also expands to cover your entire body, although you can retract or deploy the helmet as a bonus action. The mail replaces any missing limbs, functioning identically to a limb it replaces. You can dismiss eldritch mail you have equipped on your turn (no action required).

While wearing your eldritch mail, your base AC is 17 (your Dexterity modifier doesn't affect this number), and you suffer no ill-effects for resting while wearing your eldritch mail.

You can use your reaction to have a critical hit against you become a normal hit while wearing your mail. This benefit can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and all expended uses are restored when you finish a long rest.

You can transform a magical set of armour into your eldritch mail by performing a ritual while you hold it, which you can complete during a short or long rest. You can then dismiss the armour, shunting it into an extradimensional space, and you equip it whenever you summon your eldritch mail thereafter. You're proficient with the armour while you wear it this way, and if it normally has a Strength requirement, the armour lacks this requirement for you. You can't affect an artifact or a sentient set of armour in this way. The armour ceases being your eldritch mail if you die, if you perform the ritual on a different set of armour, or if you break your bond to it (no action required). The armour appears at your feet if it is in the extradimensional space when the bond breaks.

## Eldritch Invocations

At 2nd level, a warlock gains the Eldritch Invocations feature. Here are new options for warlocks with the Pact of the Mail feature, in addition to the options in the *Player's Handbook*.

If an eldritch invocation has a prerequisite, you must meet it to learn the invocation. You can learn the invocation at the same time that you meet its prerequisite. A level prerequisite refers to your level in this class.

#### Adaptive Armour
*Prerequisite: 9th level, Pact of the Mail*

You can cast *protection from energy* on yourself without expen-ding a spell slot while you wear your eldritch mail. You can't do so again until you finish a long rest.

#### Eldritch Blows
*Prerequisite: Pact of the Mail*

Your melee spell attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.

When you cast a warlock spell that requires a ranged spell attack while wearing your eldritch mail, you can make melee spell attacks for that casting of the spell instead, targeting a creature (or object, if the spell permits it) within 5 feet of you.

#### Eldritch Grip
*Prerequisite: Pact of the Mail*

You gain proficiency in Athletics skill if you aren't already, and you can use Charisma, instead of Strength, when you making Strength checks to grapple or shove other creatures, as well as when you attempt to maintain or break a grapple.

#### Inscrutable Mail
*Prerequisite: 9th level, Pact of the Mail*

You're always under the effects of the *nondetection* spell while you wear your eldritch mail.

#### Otherworldly Rider
*Prerequisite: 7th level, Pact of the Mail*

You can cast *find steed* without expending a spell slot. You can't do so again until you finish a long rest.

When you cast *find steed* this way, it has an appearance of your choice (regardless of its statistics), and it wears a saddle and barding matching your eldritch mail that can't be removed. The steed's base AC is 17 (its Dexterity modifier doesn't effect this number).
