Soul Hack Specialization

In the hidden depths of arcane craft, some artificers become drawn to a forbidden realm of soul manipulation. These individuals, known as Soul Hackers, delve into the esoteric art of tethering their spirits to otherworldly entities, bridging the gap between the tangible and the ethereal.

Tools of the Trade

When you adopt this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with calligrapher's supplies. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan's tools of your choice.

Expanded Spell List

At 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Soul Hack Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Soul Hacker

Also at 3rd level, you maintain a Book of Souls. This is a physical record containing the collective knowledge of the creatures you have encountered and studied.

You can add a creature to your Book of Souls through the following methods;

  • Uninterrupted study the creature for 1 hour outside of combat.
  • Spend a long rest studying text of the creature that contains sufficient information. (DM's discrssion)
  • After participating in killing or capture of the creature you can add the creature to your Book of Souls over the course of an hour.

You can summon a Soul Entity over the course of a long rest. The Soul Entity can be altered through the use of your Book of Souls. You can make a number of alterations equal to your Proficiency Bonus, these alterations are any attributes from creatures in your Book of Souls whos CR is lower than 1/3 your Artificer level such as actions, damage resistance, senses, ect. You cannot grant legendary actions or spellcasting from this feature.

The Soul Entity uses the commoner's statistics, with the following changes:

  • It knows the language you chose from your Learned feature and it has proficiency with all armor and weapons you have proficiency with.
  • It uses your proficiency bonus for attack rolls and saving throws it makes.
  • It gains an additional number of hit points equal to twice your Artificer level.

While in combat with you, it shares your initiative and acts on your turn. As a bonus action, you can give it a command which it follows to the best of its abilities until 1 minute passes or you command it again. If you are incapacitated, your Soul Entity can take any action of its choice. At the end of a long rest you can resurrect the Soul Entity. If you die so dose the Soul Entity.

Luster Candy

At 5th level, all magic you channel is weaved back into you. Whenever you or your Soul Entity makes an ability check or attack roll you can roll 1d4 and add it to the result.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 plus the number of magic items you are currently attuned to and regain all uses upon finishing a long rest.

Legend Gene

At 9th level, your soul entity goes beyond what is the norm. When your Soul Entity is forced to make a saving throw it may choose to succeed on the saving throw instead of rolling.

You can use this feature once and regain all uses upon finishing a long rest.

Reincarnation of the Goddess

At 15th level, your soul entity becomes closer to divinity. Your maximum number of alterations increases by 2 and if your Soul Entity is reduced to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to end one of your artificer infusions, causing it to drop to 1 hit point instead of 0.
