Ogrillon (Half-Ogre)

"I'VE READ THE SIGNS AND WITNESSED THE OMENS! Now I put that all aside so I can spill the blood, sever the limbs, rend the flesh!"

-Ur-Tumug the Reaper, Ogrillon Warlock

Ogrillons have, within their souls, the violence and fervor of true warriors. Made to serve as champions of overlords and warchiefs, they are descended from ogres and humanoids, the results of dark and strange experiments.

Bred For War

Long ago, a powerful dark lord, whose name has been lost to time, saw the potential of ogres to serve as unstoppable infantry of his army. However, they lacked discipline nor had the intellect to develop or make tactical decisions. After years of strange and dark experiments, the dark lord had finally perfect his new race, and would now build his ultimate army for his coming war.

The result was the perfect solider, these new creations he called "Ogrillons" and were leagues above their ogre kin. Smarter, more versatile, and fiercely loyal and full of fervor, they combined the power of an ogre with the spirit and tact of a true adventurer. They served the dark lord as anything from mighty barbarians storming capital cities to inquisitive necromancers bolstering the ranks of the vanguard.

Neither Civilized, Nor Savages

Despite being free of the dark lord's influence for centuries. Most are seen half-monster by many civilizations, they are usually relegated to roles in society fitting that view: soldier, guard, laborer, etc. Even though many ogrillons have a spiritual or intellectual calling, most societies will stifle this development, leading to many founding their own tribal forts or turning to a life of adventuring.
