## Cenarian *The night elves grow more arrogant. They take what does not belong to them and trespass where they are not wanted. It is their assumption that everything falls under their domination. Although they did not quite intrude upon my realm, I chose to make them do so in order to teach them a lesson in humility and manners.*
*— Cenarius, Lord of the Forest*
In the forest of Azeroth dwell the dryads and the Keepers of the Grove, the semi-divine children of the demigod Cenarius. Collectively known as the Cenarians, these enigmatic creatures live in harmony with the natural world, serving as defenders, stewards, and champions of the wild places. ### Centaurs of Ashenvale Cenarians appear to be half night elf and half stag. Keepers of the Wild have enormous antlers and manes of leaves that flow down their backs. For dryads, however the lower part is more akin to those of woodland fawns. Notably, all keepers share one trait; one of their hands is disfigured and twisted — as if it had become like the gnarled root-claw of a treant. \columnbreak
### Natural Sentinels Though they typically remain within the sacred groves of Ashenvale, the keepers always heed the call to arms when the greater lands of Kalimdor are threatened. Likewise, while they prefer peace and abhor unnecessary violence, the dryads will defend the wildlands of Kalimdor with their lives if need be. As a part of their mission, Cenarians will travel across the world, and the cosmos, working with any they can trust to defend the wild places of the world. ### Affiliation Traditionally, the Cenarians are affiliated with the Night Elves, and through them, the Alliance, although in recent years, many have taken to a more independent mindset, focused on defending the wilds over factional differences. ### Cenarian Names Cenarian names are in Darnassian, with many preferring apellations instead. A few examples of each are provided below:
**Keeper Names:** Zaetar, Ordanus, Remulos, Celebras, Aros,
Califax, Krothis, Taldros, Witherleaf, Heartwise
**Dryad Names:** Anilia, Cavindra, Darenalle, Leafsong, Shael'dryn, Moonheart,
Faradrella, Taryndrella, Selendra, Stumpwise, Lunara, Therylune

\pagebreak ### Cenarian Traits While it is hard to make generalizations about the Cenarians, you have the following traits as a Cenarian. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Wisdom score increases by 2. ***Age.*** Cenarians grow to full adulthood at the same rate as night elves, though once they are fully grown, their livespans extend seemingly indefinitely. No Cenarian has ever been known to perish of old age, although they can die in battle. ***Alignment.*** Due to their love of personal freedom and search for harmony, most Cenarians are chaotic, although some groves have more lawful tendencies. ***Size.*** While Cenarians vary widely in height and weight, they are usually from 5 to 7 feet tall, with keepers sometimes reaching above 8 feet. Your size is Medium. To set your height and weight randomly, start with rolling the size modifier:
***Size Modifier***: 2d10
***Height***: 4 feet + 8 inches + your size modifier in inches
***Weight in Pounds***: 110 + (2d4 x your size modifier) ___ ***Speed.*** Your base walking speed is 40 feet. ***Natural Magic.*** You know the *druidcraft* cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the *animal friendship* spell once per long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can also cast the *gust of wind* spell once per long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells. ***Equine Build.*** You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push or drag. * In addition, any climb that requires hands and feet is especially difficult for you because of your equine legs. When you make such a climb, each foot of movement costs you 4 extra feet instead of the normal 1 extra foot. ***Languages.*** You can read, write, and speak Darnassian and two languages of your choice. ***Subrace.*** Due to the nature of how Cenarians reproduce, you must choose either keeper of the grove or dryad. Note that while this is a traditionally gendered division, Cenarian characters may identify however they wish, regardless of the shape their bodies take. #### Keeper of the Grove As a keeper, your form is larger and you are a master of nature magic. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Strength score increases
