Narrator's Mien

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster)

This mask of deep and weathered bronze is riddled with detailed etchings that capture a well-known historic event or moment in theatre. Its scenes and glowing patterns swiftly shift to illustrate any tale its wearer tells. While attuned to the mask, you gain the following benefits.

Voice Over. You can cause your voice to emanate from any point within 60 feet of you, or all around a creature you can see within 60 feet of you, instead of your space. Speaking or performing spells' verbal components doesn't reveal your location to creatures that can't see you or that you're hidden from, unless you allow it.

Build Suspense. When you take the Ready action to cast a spell, you expend a spell slot only when you release the spell's magic. Additionally, when you ready an Illusion or Enchantment spell, you can begin portraying your spell's effect in words or lending your voice to the realism of your magic. A creature has disadvantage on ability checks to discern the true nature of your illusions cast this way, as well as on its first saving throw against a spell readied this way.

Rapt Audience. Using your spell save DC, you can cast enthrall at will, and can cast compulsion once without requiring your concentration, regaining the ability to do so at dusk.
