A traditionally peaceful people, the Moths follow the light, in whatever form it takes.

Born of the Light
Children of the Radiance, the ancient goddess of Light and Dream, the Moths are perhaps one of the oldest known species in the Hollowed Lands. Resting in the Crystal Peaks that lay on the eastern edge of these lands, the Moths were created by the Radiance to serve her in her the mortal realm, wielders who could act as an emissary of her word.
When the Pale King shed his wyrm shell and brought sentience to the lesser bugs of the Hollowed Lands, the Moth Tribe turned their backs on their creator and worshiped his light instead.
The Moth Tribe's ready acceptance of the Pale King gave them the whole of the Hollowed Lands to travel and collect Essence, a type of ancient magic that can be used to read minds, enter dreams, and open gateways. Moths were uniquely suited to wielding essence due to their original creator being made of it.
Keepers of Memory
In the Pale King's new kingdom of Hallownest, the Moth Tribe became healers, scholars, and caretakers of sacred grounds. They gave up the upper caverns of Crystal Peak to the Pale King, instead choosing to fully devout their tribe to the upkeep of the Resting Grounds. Moths took great pride in being able to help both the dead and the living find peace in their life or afterlife.
Due to their peaceful existence, many Moths are not martially inclined, though there have been exceptions in their history.
Appearance
Moths are covered in fur with fuzzy antennae, having large eyes and dusty wings that can wrap around their bodies like a cloak. Their fur and wings come in the full spectrum of color with many pattern variations.
Moth Traits
Your Moth character has the following racial traits.
Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score is increased by 2 and your Charisma score is increased by 1.
Age. You reach maturity around 10 years, you can live up to 350 years.
Size. You are a small or medium creature.
Speed. You have a base walking speed of 30 feet.
Flight. Because of your wings, you have a flying speed equal to 25 feet. You can’t use this flying speed if you’re wearing medium or heavy armor.
Dreamborn Due to your unique heritage, you gain the following benefits.
- You have advantage on all Wisdom savings throws.
- You are resistance to psychic damage.
- You are immune to magical effects that put you asleep and instead of sleeping, as long as you've stayed in a trance for 4 hours, you receive the same benefits.
Dreamwielder You know a cantrip from the Cleric spell list. At level 3, you can learn Healing Word and Sanctuary. You can cast these spells once per long rest, or using the appropriate spell slot. Wisdom or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Keeper of Life You have proficiency in History and Medicine.
Languages. You know Common and Primordial.
