Household Items in a High Magic Setting

Hygiene

Commode of Self Cleaning

Wondrous Item, Common

This decorative, lidded seat holds inside of it a chamber pot. When the lid is closed, any bodily waste inside, such as blood, urine, and feces, vanishes completely. Any cloth pieces or rags are cleaned, as if the prestidigitation spell was cast upon it.

Heated Washing Tub

Wondrous Item, Uncommon

There are two variants of this item, both of them function in exactly the same manner and differ only in size. One is a basin, 18 inches wide, 12 inches long, and six inches deep. The other is an elliptical tub six feet long, three feet wide, and two feet deep. The tub is always filled with comfortably warm, clean water. Any water that leaves the confines of the tub immediately vanishes and soiled water immediately becomes clean. The warmth of the water reaches no further than the confines of the tub and heats nothing outside the limits of the container.

Chest of Clean Cloth

Wondrous Item, Common

When this chest is closed while it has soiled fabric within, it seals itself shut for 1 minute. At the end of that minute, it can be opened again to reveal the fabric - usually clothes - cleaned as if by the prestidigitation spell and neatly folded in a pile.

Scented Stone

Wondrous item, Common

A scented stone constantly releases a pleasant aroma in a 30-foot radius around itself. If the ashes from burned incense is rubbed all over the stone, the scent released by the stone is changed to match that of the incense instead of its previous scent.

Food

Rapid Meal

Wondrous item, Common

This 1 foot a side box is used to heat food. When a meal is placed inside it, a creature can touch it and speak the command word. When they do, the food inside is instantly cooked. While fully edible, it is commonly agreed that the quality of the meal suffers for the method of cooking, and is never quite as tasty as a meal cooked with more regular methods.

Chilled Preservation Chest

Wondrous item, Uncommon

This chest is cold inside, though not enough to cause damage. Food stored within lasts ten times as long before expiring compared to regular, dry storage.

Entertainment

Music Player

Wondrous item, Uncommon

This tiny box has a small indent in it. When a preprepared gem is set in the indent, the box then emits the sound stored in the gem. As an action, a creature can touch the music player and raise or lower the volume. At the highest level, it can be clearly heard up to 300 feet away. A prepared gem can have sounds added by a creature using the encode thoughts or detect thoughts spells. If adding music or other sounds, it must be something they have heard before. A gem costs 50 GP to make and can hold up to 1 hour of continuous sounds or music.

Playcorder

Wondrous item, Rare

Similar to a Music Player, this tiny box has an indent on it. The difference with this item, is that it can also display a moving image on a flat surface within 10 feet of itself. It gained its name due to the most common recordings made being theatrical performances which were recorded and sold to those who could afford them. A gem can be created in the same manner as one for a Music Player, but it costs 200 GP to make and can hold up to 3 hours of recording time.

Communication

Mirror of Communication

Wondrous item, Rare

A mirror of communication can come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, from a small hand mirror to a large, free-standing mirror. Despite the variance, they all function in the same manner. A set of numerals are set around the mirror, and if touched in order, they attempt to connect to another Mirror of Communication. Every Mirror has a unique sequence of numerals etched on the back, and if that sequence is selected, the mirror will release dim light and emit a whistling sound. Tapping the edge of the mirror rejects the communication, while tapping the middle accepts it. If accepted, the mirrors will connect and display a view from the other mirror, as if they functioned as two sides of a window. Nothing can pass through the mirror, though both sides can see and hear the other side. Tapping the edge of the mirror twice ends the communication.
