BRIMSTONE

Brave Reconnaissance & Infernal Mission Specialists Tackling Otherworldly Netherworld Entities

Complete missions by strategically selecting Foxes from your team based on their strengths. Success is determined through dice rolls, character stats, and the rank bonus of the highest-ranked Fox in the group.

How It Works:

  1. Mission Phases: Each mission has two phases, each requiring success in a specific stat:

    • Phase 1: Focus may be on Brawn, Agility, or Mind.
    • Phase 2: Requires a different stat from Phase 1, chosen from Brawn, Agility, or Mind.
  2. Selecting Your Team:

    • Choose 1 to 5 Foxs whose combined stats align with the mission's requirements.
    • The highest rank Fox in the team provides a bonus.
  3. Rolling for Success:

    • Roll two six-sided dice (2d6) for each phase.
    • Add the total of the required stat for all Foxes sent to the dice roll.
    • Apply a rank bonus based on the highest rank in the group.

Rank Bonus:

  • Rank 1 (Pawn): +2 bonus per roll
  • Rank 2 (Knight): +4 bonus per roll
  • Rank 3 (Bishop): +8 bonus per roll

Difficulty Levels:

  • Easy: Target score of 10-17 for success in each phase.
  • Medium: Target score of 18-25 for success in each phase.
  • Hard: Target score of 26+ for success in each phase.

Outcome Determination:

  • Exceeding Success in Both Phases: Complete success with a score exceeding targets by 10 or more.
  • Success in Both Phases: Mission is a complete success.
  • Success in One Phase: A choice of success with a negative or failure with no negative.
  • Failure in Both Phases: The mission is a failure.
  • Crippling Failure in Both Phases: Score is 7 or more below target, potentially resulting in loss.

Basic Missions

Available alongside current missions, these are the most common:

  • Foxy Foray (Scout Unexplored Hex)

Specific Missions

Become available over time or can be suggested by players.

Explore the unknown to expand your knowledge. The target hex must be adjacent to your base or connected through explored hexes. The target hex can be as far as 4 tiles from your base or 3 tiles from a fortification.

Risk & Reward:
  • Crippling Failure: Possible permanent stat decrease or long recovery.

  • Failure: No rewards.
