Traits

  • False Appearance: While the paper dragon remains motionless and isn't flying, it is indistinguishable from a piece of parchment.
  • Paper Regeneration: At the start of each of its turns, the paper dragon regains 5 hit points if it has at least 1 hit point.

Actions

  • Multiattack: The paper dragon makes two claw attacks.
  • Claw: Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 1) slashing damage.
  • Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 1) piercing damage.
  • Tail Sting: Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3 (1d4 + 1) piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution saving throw or fall asleep for 1 minute. The target wakes up if it takes damage or another creature uses an action to wake it.
  • Spell Mimicry: The paper dragon casts a spell it has previously absorbed from a magical scroll. Roll a d6 to determine the spell level, then choose a spell from the wizard spell list of the appropriate level. The paper dragon can cast this spell once, using its Intelligence as the spellcasting ability. It requires no components to cast the spell.
  • Poisonous Sting: If the target fails the saving throw against the tail sting, it becomes drowsy for 1 minute. While drowsy, the creature has disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws and attack rolls, and its movement speed is halved.
  • Origami Transformation: If the paper dragon is killed without taking any damage, it can be unfolded into a 1-foot square sheet of paper. A creature proficient with Dexterity checks can attempt to unfold the paper dragon. On a successful DC 15 Dexterity check, the paper dragon unfolds intact, revealing the spell it last absorbed written on the paper.
