Way of the Avatar

You follow a monastic tradition that teaches you to harness the elements. When you focus your ki, you can align yourself with the forces of creation and bend the four elements to your will, using them as an extension of your body. Some members of this tradition dedicate themselves to a single element, but others weave the elements together.

Desciple of the Avatar

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you choose 2 elemental attunements. You learn the remaining 2 elements at 6th level.

Elemental Attunement

Starting at 3rd level when you choose this attunement, you gain the Gust, Mold Earth, Produce Flame, Control Flames, and Shape Water cantrips. And the four abilities Air Burst, Earth Wall, Water Healing, and Fire Blast, described below.

Your Elementa(Earth, Air, Fire, Water)(Ice and Lightning at DMs discretion) effects improve at levels 6, 11, and 17, any number value described in the Elemental effect (such as size, distance, time, damager, or weight) increases by an amount equal to the initial amount.

Air Burst

At 3rd level, you can spend 1 ki point to push each creature within 5ft back 5ft, if you choose this option each creature within 5ft makes a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature is pushed 5ft feet away from you and is knocked down. On a successful save, the creature is pushed 5ft.

Earth Wall

At 3rd level, you can spend 1 ki point to create an Earth wall within 5ft that is 5ft long, 1ft wide, 5ft tall, and has the maximum of your Martial Arts Die hit points.

Water Healing

At 3rd level, you can use water to heal yourself and your allies. You can spend 1 ki point and 1 minute to heal a willing creature for 2 Martial Arts Die + Your Wisdom modifier.

Fire Blast

Also at 3rd level, you can take a ranged spell attack with a range of 10 feet. You are proficient with it, and you add your Wisdom modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage type is fire and it does Martial Arts Die damage.

When you make this special attack, you can spend 1 ki point to make the special attack twice as a bonus action.

When you gain the Extra Attack feature, this special attack can be used for any of the attacks you make as part of the Attack action.

Improved Slow Fall

At 6th level, you can speed 1 ki point to use the elements to cushion your fall, this slows your falling speed before you hit the ground to take no damage from falling. You can extend this other creatures within 10ft.

You can also use the elements for extra jumping height, you can spend 1 ki point to lift you and creatures within 10ft, up 10ft.

Improved Deflect Missiles

At 11th level, your deflect missiles is improved to also be able to deflect elemental spells aimed at you or another creature within 5ft of you. You can use your reaction to reduce the spell damage by (Martial Arts Die * Monk Level) + Wisdom Modifier. If the spell damage is reduced to 0, you spend 1 ki point to redirect the spell back to the caster.

Avatar State

At 17th level, you can enter the avatar state for 1 minute by spending 4 ki points. While in this state, you can use abilities without having to expend ki points. If your hit points would be reduced to 0, they're reduced to 1 instead and the state ends.
