Knight Warden

Not all rangers wander the wilds, a ranger knight is one that has chosen a chivalrous path. A path that leads them follow each their own unique oath that they took up when they joined their knightly order. To protect their king and country, fellow kinsmen, and those who cannot defend themselves. As a knight, they are those who took up their blade for a purpose.

Knightly Oath

3rd-level Knight Warden feature

You learn the ceremonyXGE spell and it counts as a ranger spell for you. Additionally you gain a new ceremony you may perform. Taking the Oath: You touch a willing creature who wishes to take up a knightly oath and for the next 7 days they gain a +1 to their weapon attack rolls. A creature can benefit from this rite only once.

Knight Warden Magic

3rd-level Knight Warden feature

you learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Knight Warden Spells table. The spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of ranger spells you know.

Armaments of the Order

3rd-level Knight Warden feature

A knight's armor and weapons are as important to them as the spellbook of a mighty wizard. They prepare themselves for anything that might come their way when performing their duty for their order.

You gain proficiency in Heavy Armor

After a short or long rest you may spend some time with a set of armor or a weapon preparing them for the day. Additionally you may replace the chosen armor or a weapon during your next short or long rest. You may only have one set of chosen armor or a weapon this way. They gain the following benefits:
  • Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with your chosen weapon you may deal an additional 1d4 points of that weapons damage.

  • While you are wearing you chosen armor, bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage that you take from attacks is reduced by 1d4.

Honor Before Death

7th-level Knight Warden feature

As a reaction when a creature you can see within 30 feet of you is hit by an attack, you may move up to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of them and interpose yourself between them and the attack as you are hit by the attack instead.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.

Greater Armaments of the Order

11th-level Knight Warden feature

Your chosen armor and weapons are blessed by your knightly oath, they improve in the following ways:

  • The additional damage from your chosen weapon increases to 1d6.

  • The damage reduced by your chosen armor increases to 1d6 for bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage.

Uphold your Oath

15th-level Knight Warden feature

As an action you call upon those who have taken up an oath as a knight, to answer the call of action;

All creature within 30 feet of you that have undergone the ceremony Taking the Oath may use their reaction to move up to their speed and make a single weapon attack against a creature with advantage. Additionally they may instead move up to an ally and heal them for an amount equal to half your ranger level + your Wisdom modifier.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
