Ravenous Mind

Starting at 1st level, the insatiable hunger of your patron seeps into your mind, causing you to devour the thoughts and minds of those around you. Whenever you target a creature with a Warlock spell or attack, you can use Mind Leech on the target as a bonus action. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all uses upon a long rest.

Mind Leech

Psionic Power

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: 30 feet
  • Components: S
  • Duration: Instantaneous

You assault the mind of a target you can see within range, rending and devouring its psionic energy. The target must succeed a Charisma saving throw or take 1d6 psychic damage. If the target is frightened, charmed, stunned, restrained, grappled, or paralyzed, the psychic damage becomes 1d12 instead. On a failed save, you gain a psionic charge of consumed power until the end of your next turn. You can expend this charge when you deal damage, to deal additional damage equal to your Intelligence modifier, or consume this charge at the end of your turn to gain temporary hit points equal to your Intelligence modifier. You can spend only charge at a time.

You can target the corpse of a recently perished creature with this power, as long as the target has died within the last minute and not been previously leached by this power.

Devoured Memories

Also at 1st level, after using your Mind Leech on a target, you can gain one skill, tool or language proficiency that creature has until the end of your next long rest. If you use this ability again, you lose the last proficiency or language to acquire the new one.

Rending Hunger

Starting at 6th level, when you use the Mind Leech power, you always add the Shredding modifier, reducing the target's next saving throw before the end of your next turn by 1d4.

Eldritch Grip

Additionally at 6th level, you can manifest your patron's dark strength in the form of a spectral tentacle, claw or other appendage around your arms to grasp your enemies. Whenever you make a grapple check, you can choose to use your Intelligence modifier in place of Strength for Athletics checks. Additionally, targets you are grappling have disadvantage on the saving throw against your Mind Leech power.

Thoughtfeed

At 10th level, whenever you deal damage with or a creature fails a saving throw against one of your warlock spells, you can expend your reaction to draw in the target's psionic power, regaining 1d4 hit points.

Additionally, you gain resistance to psychic damage, and whenever a creature deals psychic damage to you, that creature takes the same amount of damage that you do.

Endless Void

By 14th level, the hungering void within you yearns to devour everything around you. As an action, you can cast the dark star spell without any components, centered on you. You are unaffected by the effects of the spell, and can see in the darkness as normal. The area moves with you, and you can maintain this spell without concentrating until the end of your next turn, at which point the darkness retracts into you.

Once you use this ability, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.

Hungering Void quirks

The following are some optional quirks for a player of this subclass to choose from.

d6 Quirk
1 You surprisingly don't actually eat much real food.
2 Occasionally your eyes turn to pitch black voids.
3 Objects like falling leaves or loose papers tend to be pulled toward you.
4 Whenever you meet someone new, you tend to pry a bit too far, trying to learn as much about them as possible.
5 Staring into the night sky brings both calm and a deep yearning.
6 You have trouble remembering which memories are your own and which you've consumed.
7 You'll eat anything remotely food-like and never feel truly satiated.

Appendix: Spells

Psychic Drain

2nd-level psionic

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: 60 feet
  • Components: S
  • Duration: Instantaneous

You draw on the psychic energy of another creature to sustain yourself. The target must make a Charisma saving throw. On failure it takes 3d8 psychic damage and you gain temporary hit points equal to half the amount of psychic damage dealt and regain one expended psi point.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the spell deals an additional 1d8 psychic damage.

Delve Mind

3rd-level psionic

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: 60 feet
  • Components: S
  • Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute.

You delve into a creature's mind forcing it to make an Intelligence saving throw. On failure, for the duration or until you end the spell you gain access to its memories from the past 12 hours, able to recall things it remembers as if they are your own memories, but these memories contain only things the target creature remembers.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you can delve an additional 12 hours further back in the creature's memories each slot level above 3rd.
