# Monk: Way of the Lunar Form Monks devoted to the Way of the Lunar Form take inspiration from the moon, imitating its phases to augment their way of fighting. Some monks of this tradition work in the service of a deity of the moon, like Selune, and let her light guide their way. ### Child of Night At 3rd level, your training has naturally adapted you to the dark. You gain proficiency in the Stealth skill. If you are already proficient, you gain proficiency with another skill of your choice. Additionally, you can see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, to a distance of 60 feet. ### New Moon's Shadow Also at 3rd level, you learn how to bend the shadows around you to keep you hidden. When you use Step of the Wind, you can attempt to Hide as part of your Dash or Disengage action. When you Hide in this way, you do not need to be obscured, as shadows envelop you, hiding your form. ### Crescent Moon Strike At 6th level, you've learned to unleash bursts of lunar energy from your strikes. When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of the attacks with a cutting wave of energy in a 15-foot cone. Choose Waxing or Waning each time you use this feature. - **Waxing.** Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw against your ki save DC, taking radiant damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. A creature that fails its saving throw also cannot become hidden or turn invisible until the start of your next turn. An invisible creature that fails its saving throw becomes visible until the start of your next turn. - **Waning.** Each creature in that area must make a Constitution saving throw against your ki save DC, taking necrotic damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. A creature that fails its saving throw also cannot regain hit points until the start of your next turn. At 17th level, the damage of this feature increases to four rolls of your Martial Arts die. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. While you have no uses available, you can spend 3 ki points to use this feature again. \columnbreak ### Full Moon Defense At 11th level, the totality of the full moon helps to ward you from harm. You gain resistance to necrotic and radiant damage. When you use Patient Defense, you gain immunity to necrotic and radiant damage until the start of your next turn. Additionally, when you use Patient Defense, you can choose to spend an additional ki point to protect a creature within 20 feet of you with the form of the full moon. While the creature is within 20 feet of you, it gains the benefits of the Dodge action, which last until the start of its next turn. ### Total Eclipse At 17th level, you can project an aura of inky blackness, snuffing out the light around you. As an action, you may emanate a 15-foot radius area of magical darkness which moves with you and lasts for 1 minute, until you are incapacitated, or you die. Nonmagical light in the area is extinguished, and magical light in the area is dispelled. When the area is created, you can choose any number of creatures within 60 feet of you to be able to see through the darkness. While you emanate this darkness, you gain the following benefits: - When you damage a target with an unarmed strike, you can choose to change the damage type to necrotic or radiant. Once on each of your turns when you hit a target with an unarmed strike, you can deal extra necrotic or radiant damage (your choice) to the target equal to one roll of your Martial Arts die. - Creatures within the area of darkness have disadvantage on the save against your Crescent Moon Strike. - When a creature in the darkness would roll fire or radiant damage, you can choose for them to only roll half of the damage dice (rounded up). Once you have used this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest, or you expend 10 ki points to use it again.
