The Ancient Dragon

Ancient dragons are beings of immense power and arcane knowledge, their existence spanning millennia. These creatures are not easily swayed, and those who gain their attention must be extraordinary in their own right. A warlock who enters into a pact with an ancient dragon does so out of a shared understanding of power, knowledge, and survival. The dragon may seek a loyal servant, a keeper of ancient secrets, or simply a worthy champion. In return for their allegiance, the warlock gains a portion of the dragon's formidable might, becoming a conduit for its elemental fury and arcane wisdom.

Expanded Spell list

1st-level Ancient Dragon feature
Your pact with an ancient dragon grants you access to a wider body of arcane knowledge. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you:

Spell Level Spells
1st Absorb Elements, Cromatic Orb
2nd Alter Self, Dragon's breath
3rd Elemental Weapon, Protection from Energy

These spells are whispered to you in dreams by your draconic patron. They are a testament to the vast knowledge and power of your benefactor.

Draconic Kinship

1st-level Ancient Dragon feature
Your patron grants you a spark of draconic magic that ignites within you, granting you a unique connection to dragons. You can sense their presence (although not exact location )within a mile, their distant roars echoing in your mind. You can speak, read, and write Draconic. Additionally, you gain proficiency in the Arcana and Nature skills.

Borrowed Breath

6th-level Ancient Dragon feature
Starting at 1st level, your draconic patron leands you its breath and bestows upon you the ability exhale an element matching its own. The element is determined by the colour of your patron as shown in the table.

Dragon Damage Type Breath Weapon
Amethyst Force 15 ft. cone (Dex. save)
Black or Copper Acid 5 by 30 ft. line (Dex. save)
Blue or Bronze Lightning 5 by 30 ft. line (Dex. save)
Brass, Gold or Red Fire 15 ft. cone (Dex. save)
Crystal Radiant 15 ft. cone (Dex. save)
Emerald Psychic 15 ft. cone (Dex. save)
Green Poison 15 ft. cone (Con. save)
Sapphire Thunder 15 ft. cone (Dex. save)

When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with an exhalation of magical energy in an area that varies depending on the colour of your draconic patron. Each creature in that area must make a saving throw determined by the colour of your patron. (DC = 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, the creature takes 2d10 damage of the type associated with your Gem Ancestry. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage. This damage increases by 1d10 when you reach 11th level (3d10), and 17th level (4d10).

You can use your Breath Weapon a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

The Ancient Dracon (contd.)

Fightening Roar

10th-level Ancient Dragon feature
At 10th level, your patrons presence flows through you. As an action, you can let out a loud roar. All creatures within 60 feet of you that can hear you must make a charisma saving throw against your Spell Save DC. On a failed save the creature is frightened of you for 1 minute. Creatures can re-roll their saving throw at the end of each of their turns. On a successful save, the creature is not frightened of you and is immune from the effects of this ability for 24 hours. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Draconic Form

14th-level Ancient Dragon feature
You draw on the power of your patron to transform yourself, taking on draconic features. You gain the following benefits for the next minute:
Claws. Sharp, draconic claws extend from your finger tips. Your unarmed attacks now deal 1d10 slashing damage instead of the normal bludgeoning. This damage is magical.
Wings. Incorporeal wings sprout from your back, giving you a flying speed of 60 feet.
Once used, you can not use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
