Path of the Dragons

Barbarian subclass

From the deepest pits of their rage, springs the fierce monster within them, a communion of unadulterated power. Your draconic heritage fuels your rage, as draconic magic spills from it in the form of your ancestor. Scales grow on you and increase your resilience and strength. Often, the wielder of this blood dates from ancient times from a powerful warrior, or sorcerer who mingled with dragons and bore a very powerful bloodline.

Very rarely, do people have such draconic blood within them, and even if they did have an ancestor that was a dragon, the blood has long departed in their bloodline. Those who wish to have the power of a mighty dragon will desperately go out of their way to get it. To do so, they must go through draconic-mending, by replacing their heart with that of a dragon and successfully attune to it. However, the power of the mighty dragon causes those to fall into madness if one fails to attune, and loses themselves in its madness. The failure of attunement will create an even more terrifying monster. The false dragons, Lesser Kin.

Additionally, while you rage, you gain spectral dragon wings, giving you a flight speed of 15 feet. If you already have a fly speed, then you gain an additional 5 feet instead.

Drake Heart:

You gain 3 hit points, and an additional +1 hit point every level. You gain resistance against your dragons damage type or advantage on saving throws against effects that would give you your dragons condition. If no damage type or condition is listed, then you gain immunity to non magical slashing.

You gain a breath weapon that a creature must save from, the kind of save relative to your chosen Spiritual Inheritance, that covers an area according to your Dragons listed shape that deals 1d6 damage of your Dragons type or gives the listed condition upon a failed save. Your DC is equal to 8 + CON or STR + proficiency, and may use it a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. If your dragon does not have a damage type, your unarmed attacks deal 1d6 + strength slashing damage.

Level 6

Wyrmling Infusion:

At 6th level, when you rage, you can infuse your melee attacks with your Spiritual Inheritances effect, dealing an additional 1d6 damage if it deals damage, or forcing the target to make a save against your Drake Heart DC, gaining the condition on a failed save. If your dragon does not have a damage or condition, then you instead heal half of the damage you dealt, rounded down. In addition, your unarmed attacks count as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistances.

Level 10

Tempered Wings:

While you Rage, as a reaction, you can reduce incoming damage by half from one source. If the source of the attack is within 10 feet, then they must make a save against your Drake Heart DC, taking 2d6 damage of your Dragon type. If your Dragon does a condition instead of damage, then it deals piercing damage, and if your Dragon has neither, the target takes half of the damage you did in slashing damage. Damage from this feature counts as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistances.

Level 14

Draconic Superiority:

You have advantage on intimidation checks. You cannot be Frightened or Charmed, and have advantage in checks and saves against being restrained. Additionally, when you Rage, creatures you choose must make a save against your Drake Heart DC or become frightened.

Dragons Rage

Your Wyrmlings Infusion deals an additional 1d6 damage of it's damage type or the weapon type if no damage type is listed. Additionally, you can choose to deal 1d6 damage from this feature’s extra damage to another creature within 5 feet of the creature you attacked.

Level 18

Wrath of the Dragons:

Echoes of those you inherited your draconic power from enhance your rage. When you rage, you can take on part of the form of a Dragon during your Rage, remaining a humanoid, but with several features of your chosen Dragon in addition. When you take the form of a Dragon, your size increases by one category to a minimum of Large, your breath weapons range is increased by three times, dealing an additional 4d6 damage. If your breath weapon normally doesn't do damage, then it deals 4d6 psychic damage. If your Dragon does not have a breath weapon, your melee attacks and Tempered Wings heal an amount equal to the damage you dealt.
