Scarlet Upgrade: Symbol of Exsanguination
Prerequisite(s): 6th level sanguine sorcerer, able to cast Symbol of Exsanguination
Benefit(s): Apply the following modification(s) to your Symbol of Exsanguination spell:
1) Symbol of Exsanguination is treated as a Scarlet Spell.
2) "School: necromancy [evil]" becomes "School: necromancy [blood]".
3) "Casting Time: 10 minutes" becomes "Casting Time: 1 round".
4) "Components: V, S, M (powdered garnet and bloodstone worth a total of 500 gp)" becomes "Components: V, S, F (a dagger)".
5) "immediately take 1d6 points of bleed damage and are sickened as long as they continue to take bleed damage from the symbol" becomes "immediately take 3 points of bleed damage".
6) "DC 15 Heal check" becomes "DC 18 Heal check".
7) "the bleed damage and sickened condition begin again each round" becomes "the bleed damage begins again each round".
8) "Additionally, each time a being takes bleed damage as a result of the effect of Symbol of Exsanguination, the blood that spills from their wounds causes every square that is within 10 ft. of them to become difficult terrain for 1 hour." is added to Symbol of Exsanguination.
9) "Special: If the area of effect of a Symbol of Exsanguination overlaps with the area of effect of a Sanguine Fountain, that fountain siphons the magic from that symbol, in which case that symbol is consumed and its duration ends prematurely; for the remaining duration of that fountain, the area that is encompassed by its tide of blood becomes difficult terrain and each being that begins its turn either within the area that is encompassed by that fountain's tide of blood or within the area that is encompassed by that fountain's sanguine aura takes 9 points of bleed damage (this bleed effect can neither be ended via a Heal check nor be ended via the application of an effect that restores hitpoints, however, it can be ended by leaving the area of effect of that fountain's tide and/or aura)." is added to Symbol of Exsanguination.
