Bard: College of Exploration
A homebrew bard subclass by DragonZaid.
Bards of the College of Exploration are travelers who seek tales of heroism, adventure, and intrigue from the farthest reaches of Gielinor and to spread them far and wide. They can often be found at roadside taverns and campsites inspiring audiences of traveling merchants, messengers, and adventurers with stories and songs collected from their journeys. These bards can empower those who travel with them with unfaltering morale, rejuvenating their bodies and spirits with their performances.
Bardic Lullaby
At 3rd level, you can weave powerful magic into lullabies or soothing performances you enact with your bardic focus. As an action, choose a creature you can see within 60 feet that can hear you. The creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, the creature falls asleep, becoming unconscious for 1 minute. The creature cannot be roused by normal means, but can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns and each time it takes damage. On a successful save, the creature resists falling asleep but becomes groggy, reducing its speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Energizing Rest
Also at 3rd level, you can perform a lighthearted song, rousing oration, inspiring dance or other encouraging performance to boost the morale of those around you during a short rest. You and any friendly creatures who can see or hear your performance can travel for two additional hours than otherwise before the next time they finish a long rest without risking exhaustion. Additionally, a creature that witnesses your performance has their exhaustion level
reduced by one. A creature can benefit from each of these effects once, regaining the ability to do so again after finishing a long rest. If you have the Song of Rest feature, you can use it simultaneously with this feature.
Inspiring Flourish
At 6th level, you can add an invigorating or hindering flourish to your Bardic Inspiration. When you use Bardic Inspiration, you can choose an ally or enemy within 60 feet that can hear you. A chosen ally's speed is increased by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. A chosen enemy's speed is reduced by 10 feet until the start of your next turn unless they succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC.
Traveler's Momentum
At 6th level, you can use your magic to prevent your allies from being slowed down. When a creature you can see within 60 feet has their speed reduced or is inflicted with the paralyzed, stunned, or restrained conditions, you can use your reaction to remove one of those effects of your choice from them. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Explorer's Morale
At 14th level, you can magically infuse your allies with unbreakable morale. As a bonus action, each creature of your choice within 60 feet that can hear you gains temporary hit points equal to your bard level, has immunity to the frightened and charmed conditions, and spells and other magical effects can't reduce the their speed for 1 minute. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
