# Hemocrafter You focus your studies on blood magic—also known as hemocraft—in order to harness the vitality of creatures to amplify your own magical capabilities. Hemocrafters are a rare subset of wizards, usually casted out of schools and societies for harnessing this outlandish magic. ___ ### Blood Magic *3rd-level Hemocrafter feature* ___ You are able to use your own depleted life essence to channel your magical abilities. You have access to special dice known as Hemocraft Dice. ___ ***Hemocraft Dice.*** You have six Hemocraft Dice, which are d4s. The die size increases as you gain Wizard levels, as shown in the Hemocraft Dice table. A Hemocraft Die is expended when you use it, and you take Necrotic damage equal to the rolled result of the Hemocraft Dice expended. This damage cannot be reduced in any way, and if the damage reduces you to 0 Hit Points while you're casting a spell, the spell fails but the spell slot is not expended. You regain all expended Hemocraft Dice when you finish a Short or Long Rest. ___ You gain two additional Hemocraft Die when you reach Wizard levels 9 (eight dice total) and 15 (ten dice total). ___ ***Blood Channeling.*** You can expend a Hemocraft Die as a Bonus Action to use your own body as an Arcane Focus for the next minute. If a spell you cast while using your body as the focus requires you to make a spell attack roll, you deal additional Necrotic damage equal to one roll of your Hemocraft die on a hit. ___ ***Economic Sacrifice.*** When casting a Wizard spell that requires a costly material component, you can forego the component by expending an amount of Hemocraft Dice per 150 gp of the cost of the component. ___ ##### Hemocraft Dice | Wizard Level | Hemocraft Die | |:-------------:|:-------------:| | 3 | 1d4 | | 6 | 1d6 | | 11 | 1d8 | | 17 | 1d10 | \columnbreak ### Sanguine Burst *3rd-level Hemocrafter feature* ___ Whenever you roll damage for a spell you’ve cast of level 1 or higher, you can expend a Hemocraft Die to reroll a number of the damage dice up to the amount of Hemocraft Dice you expend. You must use the new rolls. ### Bond of Mutual Suffering *6th-level Hemocrafter feature* ___ When a creature you can see hits you with an attack, you can expend a Hemocraft Die as a Reaction to force it to take Necrotic damage equal to the damage you took. This feature cannot be used against Constructs or Undead. ### Glyph of Hemorrhaging *10th-level Hemocrafter feature* ___ When you damage a creature with a spell, you can expend a Hemocraft Die to curse that creature for 1 minute. While cursed in this way, whenever the creature is hit by an attack, it takes extra Necrotic damage equal to one roll of your Hemocraft Die. At the end of each of the creature’s turns, it can make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC, ending the curse on a success. ___ This feature only works against Constructs and Undead if you expend 2 Hemocraft Dice instead of 1 when you activate this feature. ### Thicker than Water *14th-level Hemocrafter feature* ___ ***Heal.*** Whenever a spell or magical effect causes you to regain Hit Points, you regain an additional number of Hit Points equal to two rolls of your Hemocraft Die. ___ ***Resist.*** When you take damage, other than Psychic and Radiant damage, while you are concentrating on a spell, you can expend a Hemocraft Die (no action) and roll the die, reducing the damage taken by the result doubled.
