Way of Force Walking

Force Ghosts are more than echoes of the dead—they are conduits of knowledge, will, and power. Those who follow the Way of Force Walking bind a Force Ghost to a Spiritual Force Focus, learning to channel its presence to empower their abilities and draw upon the wisdom of the beyond.

power from beyond

Way of Force Walking: 3rd level

You gain proficiency in artificers tools, additionally over a long rest you can construct a Spiritual Force Focus. Using specially prepared rituals and ancient incantations passed down by Jedi and Sith alike, you have awakened and bound a Force Ghost to your Spiritual Force Focus.

At 3rd level, while you are holding the Spiritual Force Focus, it grants you the following benefits:

  1. When a creature within 10 feet of you or your Force Ghost is hit by an attack, you can use your reaction and expend a use of your Force Shield feature as your bound spirit intercedes. The target gains the benefits of your Force Shield against the triggering attack and until the start of your next turn. When you use this feature, you also gain the benefits of your Force Shield until the start of your next turn.

  2. At the end of a long rest, choose one Force-Empowered Casting option you don’t know. You can use that option once without expending additional force points. This option doesn’t count against your known options, and you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

If your Spiritual Force Focus is lost or destroyed, you can recreate it during a long rest, binding your spirit to a new focus.

If necessary, you can also replace your focus over the course of a long rest by using your artificer’s tools to rebind your spirit to a different or enhanced focus to which you are attuned. At the end of the rest, your spirit’s consciousness is transferred into the new focus, which becomes your Spiritual Force Focus. If your previous focus still exists, it loses all properties granted by this feature.

Manifest Force Ghost

Way of Force Walking: 6th level

You can manifest the spirit bound within your focus. As a bonus action while your Spiritual Force Focus is on your person, you cause the Force Ghost to appear in an unoccupied space within 30 feet of you that you can see. The ghost is intangible, sheds dim light in a 10-foot radius, and lasts for 1 minute, until dismissed (no action required), or until it is disrupted.

While manifested, the Force Ghost can see and hear, has darkvision out to 60 feet, and can telepathically share with you what it sees and hears (no action required).

When you cast a force power, you can cast it as if you were in the Ghost’s space, using its senses. You must be able to perceive the target through the Ghost. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

As a bonus action, you can cause the Ghost to hover up to 30 feet to a space you or it can see. It can pass through creatures but not objects.

The Ghost disappears if it is ever more than 300 feet from you, if your focus is destroyed, if you die, or if it is affected by Force Suppression.

Once you manifest the Ghost, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend 2 force points to manifest it again.

Split Awareness

Way of Force Walking: 10th level

Your connection to your Force Ghost sharpens your senses and focus.

While your Force Ghost is manifested, you have advantage on Constitution saving throws you make to maintain concentration on a force power.

Additionally, you can perceive through your Force Ghost’s senses, and you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Wisdom (Insight) checks while doing so.

Force Conduit

Way of Force Walking: 14th level

As a bonus action while your Force Ghost is manifested, you can fully tap into its power and attune yourself to the Force for 1 minute.

During this time:

  • You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed and can hover.
  • At the start of this transformation, you gain temporary hit points equal to twice your consular level.
  • When you cast a force power that restores hit points or deals damage, you add your Wisdom or Charisma modifier (your choice) to one roll of that power.

The effect ends early if you are incapacitated or if your Spiritual Force Focus is destroyed.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Flow Through Me

Way of Force Walking: 18th level

When you cast a force power that expends force points through your force ghost, or while holding your Spiritual Force Focus, and that power restores hit points or deals damage, you can roll one additional die of the power’s healing or damage.
