**BONES**
*- A Game of Fate, Luck, and Cursed Deals* - **Game Type:** Dice **(6d6)** - **Common Locations:** Taverns, gambling dens, outlaw hideouts - **Players:** 2+ - **Objective:** Roll the lowest total after two rounds of rolling and rerolling. ## **THE HISTORY OF BONES** Bones is more than just a tavern game—it’s a relic of death, war, and desperate fate. The game was born on the battlefield, where warlords and executioners played using dice carved from the finger bones of the condemned. Prisoners of war, traitors, and slain foes had their remains turned into gambling tools, as soldiers and criminals alike wagered their fortunes and lives on the roll of fate. Over time, Bones spread from blood-soaked war camps to the back rooms of gambling halls and the dark corners of alehouses. While modern dice are made of wood, stone, or ivory, some still claim that the highest-stakes games use dice made from real bone—or worse, from creatures of the abyss. To this day, certain dice-makers whisper that a pair of genuine "bones of the damned" will roll nothing but misfortune for those who hold them… unless the right deals are made. --- ## **HOW TO PLAY**
**1. ANTE UP.**
If playing for stakes, all players agree on an ante (gold, drinks, favors, or items). The player with the lowest final total wins the pot. ---
**2. FIRST ROLL.**
Each player rolls **six d6** and announces their total. - If a player rolls **six 1s (total of 6)**, they achieve **"The Reaper’s Hand"** and **win instantly.** - If no one rolls The Reaper’s Hand, the game moves to the second round. >
**The Reaper’s Hand.**
> To roll six 1s is to touch death itself. Some say those who achieve this rare roll are marked by fate—gaining **great fortune or an early grave** in the days to come. --- \columnbreak
**3. ASMODEUS’ DEAL (Special Rule).**
If a player rolls **three or more 6s** in their first roll, they may **reroll those 6s immediately for free.** **BUT… if any rerolled dice land on a 6 again, they are "cursed" and must remain a 6 for the rest of the game.** - Players who roll **all 6s** (total of 36) are out of the game, as Asmodeus claims their soul (figuratively… or perhaps literally). >
**Asmodeus’ Deal.**
> Some call it **"the Devil’s Reroll"**—a gambler’s chance to undo fate. But those who push their luck too far may find the Lord of the Nine Hells is watching… and laughing. ---
**4. SECOND ANTE & ROLL.**
Players can choose to **raise the ante** before rerolling, then starting with the player with the highest total from Round 1, each player **may choose any number of dice to reroll**. - **They must keep whatever they roll in this round.** - Once all players have rerolled, they announce their final totals. ---
**5. WINNING THE GAME.**
- The player with the **lowest final total** wins. - If there is a tie, tied players roll **one d6 each**—the lowest roll wins. Repeat as necessary until there is a single winner. ---
