This compilation of poems puts transition on display as a life-long journey of love, learning, and relationship-building, compared to the overnight switch-a-roo made famous by Caitlyn Jenner. While many trans narratives share similar story-arcs, (W)hole only represents the experiences of its author. The book is split into three sections, separating the authors experiences into distinctive time periods in her life. It explores the duality between feeling whole and longing to fill a void (hole). More than anything, (W)hole is a story about learning to love yourself, and the lengths to which some people must go to do so.
