Devastation overtakes him when she becomes sick because of that kiss, and soon after afflicted with a deadly virus. The story "A Bloody Night Cap" is about a teacher named Sarah who is so infatuated with her date, she ignores major red flags. The night is sure to end in a bloody mess. The last story of the collection is "Pay the Ice Cream Man". It is a non-fiction story that takes place on a hot summer day, surrounding three kids named Shea, Carrie, and Chris who yearned for an ice cream from the ice cream truck and what Chris did to make that happen.
