Polymath Magic
Sage of All Trades
All wizards are, by definition, scholars. But not all wizards need specialize. Though many wizards select a specific school or unique application of their arcane studies to focus on, there are those who seek a broader understanding of the mechanics of all magic. These are the Polymaths, scholars who have read innumerable books and scrolls on wide, ranging topics, seeking not specialization or focus, but expansion. All magic is their domain.
Subclass Features
Knowledgeable
2nd-level Polymath feature
You are so well-read on a number of topics that you nearly always have something to add to an academic discussion. When you make an Intelligence ability check, you can roll a d6 and add the number rolled to the check.
Additionally, you gain three languages of your choice. When you gain a level in this class, you can exchange one language you know for another one.
Compartmentalization
2nd-level Polymath feature
You have learned to divide your mind and provide multiple intensive tasks equal focus. You can now concentrate on two spells simultaneously. You may only do so with the following restrictions:
- The combined level of the spells can be no greater than your Intelligence modifier.
- You have disadvantage on Constitution saving throws made to maintain your concentration.
- If you lose concentration while concentrating on two spells, you lose concentration on both spells at once.
- While you are concentrating on two spells, you must use your action to maintain that concentration or you lose it at the end of that turn.
Interdisciplinary Adept
6th-level Polymath feature
Your diverse research has yielded magical benefits outside of typical wizard studies. You gain two cantrips of your choice from the Cleric, Druid, or Wizard spell list. For you, these count as Wizard cantrips.

Multitasking
10th-level Polymath feature
Your ability to split your attentions and focus on multiple tasks at once improves. You no longer have disadvantage on Constitution saving throws to maintain your concentration, and when you use your action to concentrate on multiple spells, you can cast a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action as a bonus action.
Arcane Ambush
14th-level Polymath feature
You always know to plan ahead and are skilled at getting the drop on your foes. You can take two turns during the first round of any combat. You take your first turn at your normal initiative and your second turn at your initiative minus 10 (minimum of 1). You can’t use this feature when you are surprised.
