## Cleric Domain ### {subclass-name} Domain Some priests follow mortal authority as much as divine. The Empire domain is for clerics who exalt the throne, who seek to use their power to bolster a mighty ruler. Empire clerics revere the established order, and often view social change on par with blasphemy. Priests of Empire are invariably rigid in their thinking, often more lawful than even the rulers they serve. Whether their path turns to good or evil depends substantially on the power in question, though strict adherence to the law can make monsters even out of the righteous. #### {subclass-name} Domain Features | Cleric Level | Feature | |:---:|:-----------| | 1st | Domain Spells, Emissary of the Crown, Imperial Influence | | 2nd | Channel Divinity: Voice of Empire | | 6th | Soldier of the State | | 8th | Divine Strike | | 17th | Awesome Might | \columnbreak

#### Emissary of the Crown At 1st level, you gain the skills necessary to support your crown and its expansion. You gain proficiency in one skill out of Deception, Intimidation, and Persuasion. When you use one of those skills in direct service to your liege, you can use your Wisdom modifier in place of Charisma. Additionally, you gain proficiency with heavy armor. > "Direct service to your liege" would generally mean on direct orders from a figure in government, or as part of an official mission or state-sponsored action. \pagebreakNum #### Imperial Influence Additionally at 1st level, your commands carry the strength of a mighty power. When a creature succeeds on a saving throw against one of your enchantment spells of 1st level or higher, you can choose to make it suffer 1d6 psychic damage. #### Channel Divinity: Voice of Empire Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to extend your crown's influence. As a bonus action when you cast an enchantment spell, you can expend one use of your Channel Divinity to add one additional target. #### Soldier of the State Starting at 6th level, you gain the might to stand on the front line for your kingdom. When you take the Attack action, you can cast a cleric spell with a casting time of 1 action as a bonus action instead. You can cast a spell in this way a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, recovering all uses after finishing a long rest. If you want to cast a spell in this way when you have no uses remaining, you can do so by expending a spell slot one level higher than the spell's level, but the spell takes effect at its normal level. If you cast a cantrip when you have no uses remaining, it is cast as if your cleric level were 5 levels lower. > For example, to cast Guiding Bolt (1st level) when you're out of uses, you would need to expend a 2nd-level slot. For a cantrip, a 6th-level cleric could cast Sacred Flame as if they were 2nd level. Effectively, you can think of this as "downcasting" the spell. #### Divine Strike At 8th level, you gain the ability to infuse your weapon strikes with divine energy. Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal an extra 1d8 damage of the same type dealt by the weapon to the target. When you reach 14th level, the extra damage increases to 2d8. #### Awesome Might At 17th level, you can project your empire's might into your foes' very hearts. Anytime you inflict the charmed or frightened condition on a creature, you can force it to make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, it is afflicted with the other condition as well. The second condition takes the same duration as the first and ends when it does. In addition, you gain advantage on all your attacks against charmed or frightened creatures, and if you score a critical hit against one, it deals one additional die of damage. \columnbreak ### {subclass-name} Domain quirks The following are some optional quirks for a player of this Domain to choose from. | d6 | Quirk | |:---:|:-----------| | 1 | Almost all your clothing is in imperial colors. | | 2 | You always stand ram-rod straight, regardless of the circumstance. | | 3 | You always keep a seasoning packet handy from your homeland. | | 4 | You feel restless when not expanding your liege's domain. | | 5 | You embroider an imperial insignia on all your garments.
