Tragic Poems

Also at 3rd level, your verses can crush your enemies' spirits as easily as they uplift your friends. As a bonus action, you can recite a tragic poem directed at an enemy who can hear you within 60 feet. You decide when you recite it whether the poem describes the enemy's defenses, health, or skill.

• Defenses. The next time the target rolls a saving throw, they must roll your Bardic Inspiration die and subtract half the result (round up).
• Health. The next time the target takes damage, it takes additional damage equal to two rolls of your Bardic Inspiration die.
• Skill. The next time the target makes an attack roll, it must roll your Bardic Inspiration die and subtract the result.

Enchanting Refrain

Starting at 6th level, your poetry carries such weight that it can magically sway the hearts of listeners. As an action, you can recite a marvelously powerful poem, which casts any enchantment spell of 1st level or higher with a casting time of 1 action. You immediately cast that spell at a spell level of your choice, choosing targets from among the creatures that hear your poem and without expending a spell slot. Creatures are not automatically aware they have been the target of an enchantment spell. When you cast a spell in this way, you don't need any material components unless they have a specific monetary cost.

You can cast enchantment spells in this way worth a total number of spell levels equal to half your bard level. This limit resets when you finish a long rest.
