Path of the Arcane Rager

Although the refined practices of the arcane arts and the chaotic destruction of rage stand in direct opposition to one another, there are those individuals who are stubborn enough to attempt a fusion of opposites.

Spellcasting

Upon choosing this subclass at 3rd level, you gain access to arcane spellcasting, as you learn to harness the powers of magic.

Cantrips. You learn 3 cantrips of your choice from the wizard spell list. You learn another cantrip at 10th level.

Spell Slots. The Arcane Rager Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

For example, if you know the 1st-level spell Burning Hand and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast Burning Hands using either slot.

Spells Prepared. Beginning at 3rd level you can prepare a number of spells from the wizard spell list equal to a third of your barbarian level rounded down plus your intelligence modifier. These spells must be of the Evocation or Abjuration school.

You can only prepare spells for which you have spell slots for.

Spellcasting Ability. intelligence is your spellcasting ability for your wizard Spells. You use your intelligence whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your intelligence modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a wizard spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell Save DC. = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your intelligence modifier

Spell Attack Modifier. = your proficiency bonus + your intelligence modifier.

Enraged Evocation

At 6th level, you learn to channel a portion of your rage into your magic. Whenever you cast a spell from the evocation school which deals damage, you can add your rage damage bonus to the damage roll.

Arcane Channeling

At 10th level, you have learned to finally imbue a portion of your rage with magic. You learn the shield spell if you do not already know it, and you can also cast the shield spell even while raging.

You can only cast the shield spell this way a number of times equal to your intelligence modifier, regaining all expended uses after a long rest.

Reckless Casting

At 14th level you have learned to apply your reckless attack abilities to your spells.

Whenever you attack with a spell, you can choose to gain advantage on the attack roll until the end of your turn, and creatures have advantage on attack rolls against you. Additionally, you can also use this feature to give a creature disadvantage on saving throws against your spells.
