Spellcasting. The puppetmaster is an 15th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 18, +10 to hit with spell attacks). The puppetmaster can cast disguise self and invisibility at will and has the following spells prepared: • Cantrips (at will): fire bolt, light, mage hand, minor illusion, prestidigitation • 1st level (4 slots): command, unseen servant, magic missile, shield • 2nd level (3 slots): mirror image, phantasmal force, suggestion • 3rd level (3 slots): animate dead, counterspell, spirit guardians • 4th level (3 slots): compulsion, phantasmal killer, summon greater demon • 5th level (3 slots): animate object, danse macabre, dominate person • 6th level (1 slot): create undead • 7th level (1 slot): simulacrum • 8th level (1 slot): dominate monster
Dance of the Puppets. The puppetmaster can expend a spell slot up to 3rd level to summon an amount of haunted puppets equal to the level of the spell slot. They are friendly to the puppetmaster and any creatures it chooses. The puppet appears in an unoccupied space the puppetmaster can see within 30 feet, and the puppet disappears when it or the puppetmaster drops to 0 hit points.
Roll initiative for the haunted puppet, which has its own turns. When the puppetmaster summons it and on each of it's turns thereafter, they can issue a verbal command to it (requiring no action on your part), telling it what it must do on its next turn. If they issue no command, it spends its turn attacking any creature within reach that has attacked it.
