Monastic Tradition: Way of Wind

Monks of this tradition seek to be like wind: untrappable, light, with little attachment to anything. They teach that all life is fleeting, and that when a person becomes enlightened of this truth, they themselves can become fleeting as the wind itself.

Monk Level Feature
3rd Disciple of Air
6th No Earthly Attachment
11th Airy Step
17th Manifest Whirlwind

Disciple of Air

Also at 3rd level, you energies are attuned to energies of elemental air. You learn the gust cantrip, and can cast it as a bonus action. When a creature fails a saving throw to resist being pushed by the gust cantrip, that creature takes bludgeoning damage equal to your wisdom modifier.

No Earthly Attachment

At 6th level, you have learned how to sever all your attachments to the world. When you use your Step of The Wind feature, you gain a flying speed until the end of your turn.

Airy Step

At 11th level, your movement is unaffected by difficult terrain, and opportunity attacks against you are made at disadvantage.

Manifest Whirlwind

Beginning at 17th level, you have learned to conjure a veritable tornado around yourself. As an action, spend 4 ki points and choose a point within 120 feet. The area in a 60 foot radius around that point becomes filled with violent winds, and all ranged attacks that pass through the sphere are made at disadvantage. In addition, you can choose a number of creatures within that area equal to your wisdom modifier, and attempt to batter them with gusts of wind. Targeted creatures must make a strength saving throw. On a failure, they are moved 15 feet in a direction of your choosing, and take 3d6 bludgeoning damage as they are hit by flying degree. On a success, they are not moved, and take half damage.

This effect lasts for one minute, or until your concentration ends (as if concentrating on a spell).

Note

If you are using the Martial Artist monk rework, Martial Artists of this Combat Philosophy learn the Step of the Wind Technique, from the Basic Techniques list, at 3rd level. If they already know Step of the Wind, they can instead learn one other technique of your choice from the Basic Techniques feature list.
