The Corrupted Soul

Some choose to dive headfirst into the vast world of adventure, eager to explore all that it has to offer. Others, on the other hand, are dragged kicking and screaming into it by circumstances far beyond their control. A corrupted soul is created when an ordinary person comes into contact with a sentient weapon that is possessed by a malevolent being; desperate for the chance to wreak havoc upon the world, that malevolent being will invariably attempt to possess (and corrupt) their victim's mind, body, and soul (in which case they compel their victim to wield that weapon and serve as their host). In most cases, the invader assumes full control over their host's body by trapping them within the depths of their own mind, leaving them with no hope of ever returning to the life that they had previously led. However, there are some hosts who possess the force of will necessary to resist the invader's influence to such a degree that the invader and the host are forced to coexist in a state of precarious symbiosis, with neither one being strong enough to completely overpower the other. And in a few exceptionally rare cases, a host has proven strong enough to vanquish the invader and banish them back to their native plane, while still retaining the power that they received from the (formerly) possessed weapon.

Adjustments

A corrupted soul is not proficient with any weapons.
A corrupted soul uses her Charisma score (instead of her Intelligence score) when determining the variable effect(s) of any class feature that she derives from her Witch class (such as the saving throw DC of her Hexes).

Possessed Weapon (Su)

Starting at 1st level, a corrupted soul becomes proficient with a weapon of her choosing, excluding the following: bayonet, blade boot, combat scabbard, handwraps, rope gauntlet, stingchuck, throwing arrow cord, traveling kettle. This weapon is a sentient weapon that is possessed by a malevolent being (such weapons are commonly referred to as possessed weapons). A being that has become bonded with a possessed weapon is designated as its "Unwilling Host". An Unwilling Host feels compelled to keep her possessed weapon within reach at all times; she has no desire to wield any other weapon. While an Unwilling Host is wielding her possessed weapon, she can communicate with its inhabitant telepathically (and vice versa).

A witch must commune with her familiar each day to prepare her spells. Familiars store all of the spells that a witch knows, and a witch cannot prepare a spell that is not stored by her familiar. A witch’s familiar begins play storing all of the 0-level witch spells plus three 1st level spells of the witch’s choice. The witch also selects a number of additional 1st-level spells equal to her Intelligence modifier to store in her familiar. At each new witch level, she adds two new spells of any spell level or levels that she can cast (based on her new witch level) to her familiar. A witch can also add additional spells to her familiar through a special ritual.

This ability replaces Witch's Familiar
